I’ve facillitated workshops with a variety of people and ages making QUEER FLAGS and protest banners. I have worked with LGBTQ+ youth groups, adult groups and even as part of Manchester pride! The workshop is made accessible for those with no sewing skills, but flags can be personalised with more flare and sewing skills if desired! The aim is to provide community and access to Queer friendly space. Whilst making the flags, we talk about Queer politics, reclaiming pride as a protest. The workshop was first developed during my time spent as Artist in Residence for Bootham School, after noticing that there weren’t any activities or spaces for Queer and Questioning students to explore their identity.
