Soft Touch to a Knife’s Edge is the second solo show by multimedia artist Christina Cushing, a video installation softly questioning how relationships form in virtual spaces and the ways in which communication and intimacy has shifted, as the boundaries between online and offline blur and combine.

Poetic and surreal, her artwork manipulates the relationship between image and language through the screen; looking at the role of absurdity in the making of meaning, and how we portray intimacy without physicality. The exhibition references 3D Modelling, Blue Screen, and Photogrammetry - tools used to assimilate physical objects into their virtual form. Using stream of consciousness and semiotics, her films explore themes of love, mortality, and the desire to transcend the physical body.
